the BIG disagreement

Some families have big gaps to negotiate--like religion, if the Dad is Protestant and Mom is Catholic, they have to decide how to bring up the kids...all one tradition, or a hybrid of both. Well, our family is no different, though some might find this trivial. But, if you know my husband, Nick and my mom (McGrandma), then you have some idea about the importance of competition and staying true to your team.

It just happens that Nick's life-long baseball team is the Oakland Athletics, and I was personally raised to disdain the A's existence as a Seattle Mariner. Thankfully, last night's Mariner win over our arch-rivals helps to fuel this blog along :). And a fresh email from McGrandma this morning proclaiming her efforts to purchase M's gear for every age of Molly's life. All this leaves me wondering how this poor little girl will grow up...wearing the blue of her maternal family or the dreaded yellow/green of her papa. Only time will tell. But your prayers on this front would be much appreciated, as for this family, baseball is no small matter (just ask Nick how many fantasy baseball leagues he is in this year).

the preview...

Here's a peek at our little girl...she is looking up and you can see the bones of her knuckles as she tries to suck her thumb.

So, we are waiting...only 4 more months to go. Then Molly will be here to play (i.e. cry, poo, eat). While we're waiting, my mom and dad (the McFarland grandparents) came to visit and share their grandparent magic. They made a nursery out of our spare room! What a labor of love, as my dad painted, and my mom shopped and sewed for three days. Here are the results of their efforts:

The cradle was Nick's grandpa's...the mobile was mine as a baby.
