Thanksgiving 2010

Oh dear, it's been too long!!! For the few people who check this site, I apologize for the lack of entries.

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday with Grandma CC and Grandpa Mc (my mom and dad) in Ephrata, Washington. There was a decent amount of snow, and new boots to try out!

You can see that she was a bit uncertain, but she gained some confidence as she learned to walk in her first pair of hard-soled footwear. She has only been walking for one month, so this was a big moment. Also, her first Thanksgiving with teeth, so she was able to enjoy the traditional turkey and other wonderful holiday foods.

Hair

Is it wrong that I get jealous of her hair?

Playing with friends

We would like to introduce future members of the Class of 2027 (hopefully!).

This short video features:

Benjamin the Walker: 15 mos.
Isa the Scooter: 12 mos.
Molly the Jumper: 9 mos.

Plot Summary: Know your exit strategy when you get in a tight spot.

Molly had her 9 month doctor's visit this past week as well. Here are her latest stats:

21 lbs 5 oz. (9.7 Kilograms) --dropping to the 88% percentile for her age. Poor girl, she's just wasting away!

30 inches (76 cm) --maintaining her 99% for height. Her papa is so proud!

5 teeth: 3 on top, 2 on the bottom.

Favorite pastimes: drooling, laughing with papa, reaching out to grab anything she can, and taking baths.

Farewell to Sumin

Molly's first friend and nanny, Sumin had her last day with Molly last Friday. We are so grateful for the 6 months she watched and cared for Molly. We will miss you!

First Friends

Just wanted to give a shout out to all the little people that are already a part of Molly's life...in order of exposure :)--

Mayah Sing
h-Barrett (3 wks OLDER): Miss Mayah comes to play with Molly with Sumin at church, so Mayah is Molly's first "in-person" friend! These two totally wear each other out, laughing and playing.

Being the younger one, Molly keeps an eye out for all the new things she can learn from the older and wiser, Mayah!

Nami Jae Song
(3 wks YOUNGER): Miss Nami lives in Korea, but we Skype often and have virtual playdates, so she is actually Molly's first friend, and they will meet for the first time in person on Valentine's Day--yahoo!

The
Sikes & Quesada kiddos - Janie (6), Will (4) and Benjamin (12 mos) Sikes along with Yago (2 1/2) and Isa (9 mos) Quesada represent our Tacoma play group. We try to get Molly down to play as much as possible...talk about built in older brothers and sisters! We've made it two times in 6 months...we'll do better this Spring, I know it!

Other buddies:
Aiden Reeve-Parker (6) - expert Wii player who will show Molly how to bowl like a pro!

Katelynn (2), Evan & Aiden (1 mo.) FitzGerald - part of the MIPC baby explosion!

Ellie (4) - official leader of the "Baby Molly" fan club at the MIPC Preschool

Dollie Starr Mazal Rider (1 day old on 2/7!) - went to visit on her BIRTHday!

Far-away friends who we hope to meet soon!:
Benjamin Clarke (Warwick, England) - 2 mos OLDER

Elizabeth Santamaria (Tampa, Florida) - 6 weeks YOUNGER

Evie (2 mos YOUNGER), Camper & Carlisle (2) Land - (Arkadelphia, Arkansas)

Leah (7) and Zach (4) Peterson - (Knoxville, TN)

Naomi (5) and Sarah (3) Porter - (Los Angeles, CA)

And we're currently waiting for our first family reunion that will allow Molly to meet all her COUSINS who ALL live in California (boo!):

Molly's first pigtails and first words

It was confirmed that Molly spoke her first words while at Kari's work on Mercer Island. We have witnesses that can testify that her first words were "da da". It was her response to the question: Who is the smartest person alive?
